According to a recent study by Oce’ Business Services… While organizations continue to manage most of their document activities internally, some have increased outsourcing compared to last year’s report. In 2009, 12 percent of respondents indicated their company was outsourcing fleet management; this year that number jumped to 43 percent. In 2009, 18 percent of executives surveyed indicated their organization was outsourcing print/copy center management; this year that percentage increased to 39 percent. In 2009 19 percent of the companies surveyed were outsourcing mail management; this year that figure increased to 32 percent. A strong majority of companies recognize the importance of records management (83% have a records management program in place) but only 10% said their program includes an electronic records repository. While digital mail represents an evolution in mail management to a more efficient, digitized process, Oce’s survey results indicate a strong majority of enterprises are not yet leveraging digital mail and its advantages (75%).
